Designing Interactive Experiences

Spring 2021

This course explores the design of interactive experiences and the process involved in producing

unique art installations and sensorial environments. Students will learn how to use their creativity

and existing skills to design installations that stimulate the senses and promote participation. How

are narratives expressed through immersive environments? Students will learn how to tell stories

that delight, spark discussion and invoke emotions. Students will explore the meaning of

interactivity and how it applies to the design of experiences as art or in industry. From kinetic

sculptures, to lighting installations and sensorial environments, this course will teach students the

steps involved in creating a unique interactive experience.
